December 27, 2010

One of my favourite houses in Ainslie. I think it looks like something straight out of a children's story.

December 26, 2010

More rain coming. Quelle suprise!

December 25, 2010

Christmas Day.
We spent lunch with our second family the Deadys. They have the most wonderful garden, including the Conversation Pit, which I am certain would have been my Dad's favourite place to stretch out with a glass of red and some good company.

December 24, 2010

Christmas Eve, and I added a little festive cheer to our front door.

December 23, 2010

A day late, but this one was from our Christmas party at the Boathouse.

December 22, 2010

A very big day for our family. My sister gave birth to the next generation, the beautiful little Frederik Robert Grobler. There are no words to express how happy I was to get the news.

December 21, 2010

Our Christmas tree. This year we decided to go for a living tree that we can use again each year. It's a little small this year, but with a bit of love, it will grow!

December 20, 2010

The sentence Karl left on the fridge for me this morning.

December 19, 2010

Shoes, oh how I missed you!

December 18, 2010

On a day with our nephew Tommy, we took a drive to Collector. The view from Lerrida winery looking back over Lake George.

December 17, 2010

Our boxes finally arrive!

December 17, 2010

They say it was the drought, but pavements all over town are being lifted by the roots of thirsty trees! Means you have to watch where you are walking.

December 16, 2010

A beautiful display of colour as the sun went down.

December 15, 2010

The Christmas production begins.

December 14, 2010

Some beautiful native blossoms in front of our building.

December 13, 2010

And so the wrapping begins.

December 12, 2010

A quick day trip to Sydney to see my Nanna for her 95th birthday.

December 11, 2010

We are making some of our Christmas gifts this year, and this was my trial run; fudge for my Nanna.

December 10, 2010

Sebastian shows you are never too young to learn to build a fire.

December 09, 2010

Uncle Karl has some cuddle time with little Tommy.

December 08, 2010

So, the judging of the Design a Ginger competition was tonight. We tied for first place with the team from my old firm CCJ, but this house was my favourite.

December 07, 2010

The National Film and Sound Archive. One of my all time favourite Canberra buildings. We were here for the National Women In Construction's end of year cocktail party.

December 06, 2010

Steph and I putting the star on our Christmas tree, and the finishing touches on our gingerbread house.

December 05, 2010

Sorry for all the weather related posts, but the weather has been incredible. Today we finally saw blue sky!

December 04, 2010

So the design begins.

December 03, 2010

Design A Ginger. Love it.

December 02, 2010

And rain.

December 01, 2010

Rain, rain, rain.

November 30, 2010

After weeks of heavy rain, we got a sneak peak of sunshine this evening. It was only for a few minutes, but it sure was nice.

November 29, 2010

Dinner and drinks with Libby and Linda. This birdsnest was to die for!

November 28, 2010

Emma was in town visiting, and before heading out for some dancing, I got to meet Muscles!

November 27, 2010

Christmas is definitely in full swing at the shopping centres. This Santa had a pretty fancy sleigh!

November 26, 2010

Karl and I are having a handmade Christmas this year, and tonight I started making the first of our gifts.

November 25, 2010

My little sister's birthday dinner, and a great night out with Kate and Emma.

November 24, 2010

I am working on a portfolio of homes for a large building company just starting up an operation in Canberra. I am doing a lot of hand drafting, and I am loving the break from CAD.

November 23, 2010

Karl and I are currently working with the Canberra Fertility Centre to try to fulfil our dream of having a family, which means a lot of early morning drives to the hospital across town. On the drive this morning, as we crossed the lake, we came across a hot air balloon taking advantage of the beautiful morning.

November 22, 2010

I got invited back to a building site I spent a lot of time at by my old boss. It was very exciting to see designs I spent so many hours on coming to life around me.

November 21, 2010

You know you live in a country with a lot of international guests when on each street crossing you are reminded which way to look!
