So today I got my tattoo. It's something that my Dad used to say to me a lot, and I have missed hearing it. I didn't realise how much I missed it, until my sister said it to me recently, before a big job interview. So now I have it with me always.
We went to the Australian Embassy in Geneva today, to vote in the Federal Election, and when we came out, we were met by a group of young aussies, one wearing the flag, who gave us fresh baked lamingtons! Karl was super excited.
I came to Montreux to book in for my new tattoo! I am a little freaked out, but so excited.
At one of the holiday chalets we clean, each of the kid's beds comes with its own teddy bear. They are a seriously cute touch, and each have their own name tag for good measure.
Elizabeth's new sewing corner. I love it, and am super jealous of the creative little corner. I can't wait to get back home and set one up myself.
My new world of watching tv over the internet, instead of through the tv. Now if I could just find the cable that connects the two together, I would be set.
A serious family of snails!
A seriously cute door bell. I couldn't resist giving it a ring!
The summer feels like it is coming to an end, and I think these might be the last of my geraniums.
A day spent building a CAD model from Matt's timber and board one.
A bike with all of the essentials, although for the bike or the driver, I couldn't be sure.
Listening to jazz on the deck at Cookie, with old friends and new. A very nice end to a sunday afternoon.
Fresh snow in the middle of summer.
We must be under a fair few flight paths, because the skies are never empty. Today I could count at least 8 planes overhead.
My last day looking after the girls, and it was pouring rain. So we joined the madness that is Espace Junior.
A day in Vevey. Moments later, Peonie came face first off the slide, putting her teeth through her lip, and the rest of the afternoon passed by in a blur of ice packs and tears.
A trip to Lavey-les-Bains, the local thermal baths. They couldn't compare with the baths in Vals, but the girls and I enjoyed swiming in warm water instead of the cold pools in Villars.
A very wet trip to the park. We didn't stay long, but the girls were happy to get to wear their rain coats!
On August 1, Swiss National Day, locals and tourists alike relax after the parade. Moments later, it turned from clear blue skies to pouring rain (as only the mountains can), but the party continued well into the night.
